After graduating in Architecture from the Politecnico of Milan (1994) and an academic year at the Faculty of Architecture of Seville (Erasmus project), Nicoletta Savioni worked with important planning and design firms in Italy and abroad, such as Studio Anna Castelli Ferrieri e Associati of Milan, Montesu & Partners in Berlin, and Antonio Citterio and Partners of Milan. In 1999 she opened, with Chiara Monti and Giovanni Rivolta, the A4A architectural firm which works in planning and interior design in Italy and abroad. In 2002, she founded, again with Chiara Monti and Giovanni Rivolta, A4Adesign, a company which creates and produces furniture, objects, sets and interior design installations in cardboard.
Alongside her professional work, she is also active in teaching and dissemination.
After graduating, she was assistant to Prof. Paolo Caputo for the course of Architectonic
Composition of the Faculty of Architecture of the Politecnico of Milan.
In 1997, she collaborated with the Triennale of Milan, with responsibility for the video part of the exhibition “European public
spaces”. Since 2001/2 she has collaborated with the laboratory of Interior Design of the faculty of
Architecture Bovisa Politecnico of Milan. In 2009 she was contract lecturer at the ISAD (Istituto
Superiore di Architettura e Design).
She currently works full-time as an architect and designer in the two companies of which she is a
founding partner.
Giovanni Rivolta, even as a student, alternated experiences abroad with internships in Dortmund, at the firm of J.P. Kleihues Architect, and New York at Peter Eisenman Architects. After graduating in architecture from the Politecnico of Milan (1994), he moved to Berlin where he worked with the firm of Dioguardi for the design of residential buildings and areas. In 1997 he was in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, West Indies, for the design of a luxury resort; in 1998 he took part with the firm of Michele De Lucchi in projects for Deutsche Bank and Deutsche Bahn in Germany. In 1999 he opened, with Chiara Monti and Nicoletta Savioni, the A4A
architectural firm which works
in planning and interior design in Italy and abroad.
In 2002, he founded, again with Chiara Monti and Nicoletta Savioni, A4Adesign,
a company which creates and produces furniture, objects, sets and interior design installations in cardboard.
In 2006/7 he was Senior Architect Consultant in Della Italia (Indian-Italian Joint Venture), based in
Mumbai for retail and hotel projects in Hyderabad and Mumbai, private buildings in Dubai and in
Kenya.
He currently works full-time as an architect and designer in the two companies of which he is a
founding partner.
